Upholstery HELP!!!!!!
Hey guys havent been on forum very much but havent been able to have the boat out much either. Need new upholstery in it and was going to take it on myself but didnt have the time and didnt have the money to get it done. Last quote i got was almost 2k. Way too much. Anybody know of any good reputable upholstery shops in the orange county or la county area that i can go too. I am no longer going to take it on myself. Going to come up with the money to get it done but im sure i can get a better price then my previous quote. Any help is appreciated! Gotta get back on the water!
Thanks

im in the same boat...stokernick told me about a place called copy cats...you take the old uoholstery off your self and mail it to them...they make an exact copy of the old vinyl and send it back then you staple it on...nick said it was about half the price of the quotes he was getting to do his seats...just a thought

Hmm I'll have to check into that. I'd be concerned it wouldn't fit when it got returned my upholstery is pretty old and I think it's even shrunk up a little bit.

from your internet name, and the fact you are from orange county, i assume you have or have had, a bahner boat. i'm looking at one myself that will need upholstery work too, if i buy it.
the guy selling the bahner i'm looking at is from tijuana, (he and his boat are in utah now) but he said it would cost $1600 in UT, $2000 in socal, and $600 in tijuana to get reupholstered. from the OC, you are not that far from TJ, so there's an option.
you could also take advantage of the down economy, and search around craigslist. you very well might find somebody with experience who is out of work and desperate. he probably works out of his house and has less overhead than a shop. i swear i've seen offers from guys like that on craigslist--i just can't point to a specific one. let us know what you find out--especially if you find one in socal. i'm in santa barbara, and from san diego, so i cover pretty much all of socal.
there aren't many of us from socal around this forum. though al stoker/racer is a heavy hitter.
