Lin, Lightspeed says Wild Bills Express burned up during a race years ago...so the boat I have now may have been renamed "Wild Bills Express"...It definitly was in conn at one time. I spoke with Mike Combs at Checkmate this morning. He's going to reasearch my Hull number to find the history on the boat..

I found out some cool news directly from Checkmate on my boat today. It was layed up as a race boat with AME 4000 resin, the transom was beefed up for tripples, the boat was pre-rigged for tripples, and the bottom was blueprinted at the factory. The boat was sold to Dorchester Marine in Charleston South Carolina. The owner of the company was a guy name Benny Robinson...now if I could find him I'd be able to find out some more history!!

Congratulations On the great find of an old race boat. I used to work for Sundance Marine & I didn't remember that hull coming through us. I am glad to hear that you are slowly tracking down the history of it. I hope to see it up & running soon.

Awesome. Can't wait to see it in person.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

for some custom work you could get plastics cut at a plastic store .I used canal plastic nyc.
cpcnyc.com for a dash back slash. The original was black. Plus I replace the original black hatch
with the white one. And blue wind shield

    Steve,

As much fun as we both had at R/Ranch, it'll be awhile before I come back down. That trip had put more chips in my hull than in the 4 years I've owned it.......I think you understand. Best wishes..............

Good to hear. And yes, now that I think about it, a pair of 24" Choppers would be better. Shouldn't be too hard to locate/buy/borrow a 24 right hand. Also have you considered weighing the boat? Anytime its off the trailer, take the trailer by itself, and weigh it. Then weight the whole boat only again on the trailer, minus power. Would be interesting to know. On a another topic...The beach is rip'n today. How bout in Jupiter?

My 13 day straight work stretch is almost over! I'll get to work on the Checkmate this entire coming weekend! Yee Ha! Hopefully I'll get motor #2 put together..if I can't get anything mechanically done (I'm sure I'll be missing some stupid little part/bolt/nut/etc.) I'll continue on the cosmetics! More waxing, buffing, cleaning, fix a few gelcoat chips, etc. etc.!! The boat is anxiously awaiting more love!!!
