Sometimes you can take some vice grips and remove them if you don't clamp down too tight as they are just pressed in in most cases ( the older engines had a screw in model which is far better) Just be careful not to crimp it any at all or put heat on it as it has a small plastic ball inside. Sometimes taking a punch and tapping it side to side helps. If all else fails just twist it out with some pliers and buy a new one to install. If the inside breaks off an EZ out will usually remove the piece. Just another example of where saving 10 cents on a press in versus a screw in model will make a better bottom line for the manufacturer. The old screw ins were easy to install or remove and lasted almost forever. I believe the check ball in them was stainless. I've bought them before and drilled and tapped the block so I could use them. Takes a little time but the problem is solved forever. I think the list price for them is about 6-7 dollars each. We sometime have some in stock when we can get them.
