APACHE Scout Power Options
Need Advise…
Might be looking to power 21’ Apache Scout with New Merc 300xs.
I have a few options. I want what will be best for the boat, but also want to take resale of motor alone into consideration. I will probably only keep the boat for about 2 years and sell it. I might end up selling them separate.
Boat has Extension Box and Hyd Jack Plate, Tabs. Boat will be used in the ocean.
Options:
1st Choice:
Optimax
or
Offshore (Offshore is 700 more)
2nd Choice:
Sportmaster 1:62 or 1:75
Torquemaster 1:75
Not sure what this boat will top out at, results with similar power on other Scouts are anywhere from 75-85 mph.
Thanks

This is a general question, about which power and why to put on an Apache 21/22.

I think with that kind of power you coud pull the 1.62 pretty well. But the 1.75 will come out of the hole quicker and be easier on the equipment.
