280 merc
i have 280 mercury and every time it climbs to 3000-4000 rpm it shuts down completely wat do u think is the cause?

Sounds like sensor or ecu " somebody will chime in and help

I had a similar problem in the past drove me nuts. Put in on the dyno and found the air gap was open too much on the sensor under the fly wheel. Pretty sure I set it to 20 or 25 thousands and fixed the problem. Good luck!!

Air gap on trigger needs to be set at .035"

thank a millie for ur help guys.....Jay i set my trigger gap to .035 now im off and runing thanks again realy apresheate it.
