Whats your engine height? Is this new to you or has this been an on going issue? It does take some time to learn how to drive an ally.

prop shaft in relation to pad. if you were to take a strait edge, sit it on the bottom of the boat(pad) and go strait back, where is it in relation to the center of the prop shaft. Let me ask you a quick question, does your engine have low water pickup? Again, for someone new to pad vee's, the allison does have a learning curve....

Lots of seat time. Get back in a drive it. Do not go over 80mph with out LWPU.
Take your time and balance it on the pad. Slow turns to the left to start.
Enjoy!XR2001 & XB2002

I agree with Oneshot. Tell your location. An experienced person can shorten the learning curve drastically

Been there, done that, XR4 on SS2000. First time out I was out of skill at mid 50's. Now it goes a lot faster.
I drive a lot 2" below the pad. The handling is OK that high until 65 or so. You should be OK that high with no nose cone. Faster than that the boat runs better with the motor higher. Warning, my Laser blows out if I run the engine high.
Seat time will cure your ills, assuming your steering is tight and you have solid mounts.

The good news is your only running a 150 good for learning. The even better news is it will require a lot of seat time. Keep lower trim angles at first the chine walk (duck walk) will not be as bad. hold the boat at the very beginning of the chine walk and work on driving it there. Set up is the key for a great running ally nose cone and solid mounts will improve drastically the amount of imput required to keep it balanced on the pad. Use caution when letting off the throttle do it slowly until the bow settles back down on the water Allison's can hook and spin out. This condition is a lot worse with rubber mounts. Not gonna preach! But always try to wear a good life jacket ( lifeline preferred ) and practice in open areas not skinny canals. Welcome to the club of one of the finest boats built. Other sources are Allison owners.com and Allison boats directly Enjoy it and be safe. Drew!
