real world # with upgraded ECU on F-150 Yamaha

I posted this in the Tech section and was hoping that I would get more interest in this Low-Emission section.
Simmons Motorsport has a upgraded ECU for the Yamaha F 150. Has anyone ran one of these on this motor yet. If so what kinds of performance gains did they get ? I would think that with a upgraded fuel and timing curve, and raising the rev limiter that if someone switched from running 87 oct. gas with a stock ECU and ran 89 or 92 gas with the up graded ECU that we may get a lot more punch and a little more speed from a stock motor. If anyone has real world numbers from this upgrade and would share them it would be great. Joe R

I am still waiting for a answer from Simmons Motorsport to see what performance gains that I will see if I run there upgraded ECU on my F 150 Yamaha. Hard to think that with all the F 150 Yamaha's hanging on Bass and Flat boats that nobody has ran a upgradded ECU on one yet. Maybe I can be the ginnie Pig for Simmon and get a test and tune first time out of the box discount. Joe R

I'd still like to know myself. Since Yamaha don't make a 175 4-stroke everyone goes to the Suzuki if they want the max hp rating on a new boat. I wouldn't expect any huge gains but if they could make it equivalent to the Suzuki then it would darn sure be worth it. The premium gas would suck for a everyday fisherman but the people who fill up at marinas get raped regardless of octane levels. Just sucks that it would almost guaranteed void the warranty on a new motor.

I didn't get any major performance gains. But did get what Simmon said it would do. They raised my rev limiter- The motor responds better to throttle - and I seen a steady 1 MPH gain it top end speed. Not a night and day power gain but it was a step in the right direction . I did feel the upgrade. Turn around time was fast.

Their Definitely not bringing back the HPDI, I can promise that.....It will be the 150,175 and 200 Small Block SHO......Im thinkin they increased the displacement on the F150 like they did from the 3.3liter to 4.2liter SHO.....Mercury is a step ahead though, their 3liter 150 8valve head motor is Killer, and will have a 175,200hp Variant soon....Their 4.5liter 6cylinder SHO Killa is supposed to be SICK........Im still a Etec fan....

SHO's are staying together very well as long as there broke in hard. I'm got more than 70 customers running them with only 3 failures. The only thing I can get out of our dsr(service rep) is mid to late September something is coming in 150-175 4-strk yamaha.
