That's pretty funny, Dennis. You think? And countless times over 200 in the cars, I'm sure!
I notice a few things from the responses on this thread:
1) My theory seems to hold so far. Since this is "the" site for high performance outboarders, you would have to assume that the great majority of the world's "100+ club guys" would be here in one form or another. So, the high percentage of responses already that say "nope, not to 100 yet" tell me that there's still a large percentage that don't go 100. GPS sure helps prove that out.
2) Lots of "don't need to do that anymore" responses. This shows our general population's getting older and slower. It's true that for most, as you age you (a) get smarter and (b) balls shrink when it comes to all out speed. Notice I said "for most". There are still many among us that show no signs of aging when we get behind the wheel, even though our birth certificates prove otherwise.
3) We need some new blood in the hobby (I know, that's been posted many a time). The young guys who think they can't die, those are the ones willing to hang it out for miles trying for that last mph. I know I don't care to anymore either. I currently don't own a (running) boat that will run over 100, though that will change soon again.

I had the Lavey up to a best of 94.6 GPS. After a laundry list of broken Mercury 260 parts I ****ing gave up. Then I melted down a Monty powerhead and ****ing gave up again. Now 78-83mph depending on props with the 225 H.O.

Broke the hoonch barrier in the STV Pro Comp last week. That was my first time hitting triple digits and it was pretty eery feeling so smooth and stable at that rate of speed. Two people and full of fuel with plenty of room left to go...a great way to start the boating season in MN.

I'm 25 and trying to get to 100 (don't know if that's what you mean by young). Money is the limiting factor for me as with most things speed related. I'm hoping in time I'll get there though. Especially before I go broke paying for gas. Also there aren't many of my friends into boats, and especially into outboards. It could just be my location though. I do feel fortunate to have what I do.
