Fuel Pump/Regulator Recommendation
Guys,
I'm wanting to ditch my VST on my 3L and go to a pump and regulator in the boat. I've been chasing fuel problems for damn near a year and I've bout had it. I want to be able to maintain constant pressure so I think I need a bypass regulator that has a return to tank. What are your thoughts?

You want to use a Bosch 984 fuel pump (As merntioned Tony and Linda Brucato) sells them. And a Aeromotive regulator with the return port for the tank. Here's the one I use. And you will need a guage also. You can buy direct from aeromotive.

Ill need something a bit less pressure than that but I appreciate the insight, Bud. Need 34-36 PSI for this turd.
So next question, what is WOT fuel burn on a 225 3L? Ive seen in the neighborhood of 26-27 GPH. Thinking a 35 GPH pump will suffice as long as it can make the pressure or should i step it up to a 43GPH?
Not straying away from whats recommended above but $235 is a bit more than I. want to spend on a pump.Sunsation 32 Dominator - 496 MAG HOs

Think I found a nice used Bosch pump! Now, I've heard people say you need a filter before a Bosch pump. I'm not a fan of putting a tight filter before a pump as it also can starve the pump. Would a ~200 micron screen be ok before the pump then a 10 micron filter after the pump?
Thanks guys

I run a filter before and after with no problems. But my pump is mounted low in relation to the tank as not to tax it.

200 micron is kinda large, I use a 30 micron w/SS screen pre pump a a bosh 10 micron post pump. Tony has nice bosh10 mic filters and Jay Smith always suggests the Wix 10 mic filters..

Is the Bosch pump that sensative to debris?? No need to worry on my post pump filter.... I got plenty of CAT stuff on the shelf....
Bud, I'm going to mount the pump about the same level as the bottom of the tank so it'll have to draw up the pickup and down to my screen and into the pump. Seem ok?Sunsation 32 Dominator - 496 MAG HOs

I run mine like this. Hose from tank to pre filter/water separator to pump, to post filter prior to injectors. The pre filter and pump is mounted low in relation to the tank.

I use a 100 micron filter in front of my pump, and a 10 micron after.
