It's an 18'. In Key west back then, it was the boat of choice. Went up to Hollywood to make the deal with your dad and when it was done he brought it to me in Islamarado. I think we were at the Tiki Bar, and they were racing out back that day. The guy that worked for him, Phil, I think, was racing a 14' that day. Seemed like he had had too much time in the resin fumes without a respirator LOL. Good times back then. Hope to meet you when I get back down to S. Fla. As far as being outdated, It seems a lot of people still dig 'em. A true classic.

Barney sold me that boat for $3650. He also got me all the rigging at cost. With steering, jackplate, and trailer, the total was $4400, and I got to pick out the two tone flake & interior. What a great guy to deal with! You have to look hard to find that anywhere, anytime.

Owned this one for 16yrs. Showed it to Barney and he told me it was a RAT boat. Owner told me it was a j class race boat with a 1500xs, real center cable steering. Ultra lite kevlar hull, no floor, stringers and braces were 1/4 inchs thick. My 12year old son wanted it, I told him it was to dangerous for his first boat, so I sold it!!!!

In the early '80s we used to go to Miami Marine Stadium for the races. Mod VP class was mostly 16' Action's laid up superlight. Had Merc inline 150's I think. Ran about 93mph and you could see the hulls flexing LOL. Lots of blow-overs too! If yours was a 16', it's very similar, but it looks like a 17'. Cool boat.

In a recent video ( I think of the Clewiston run ) there was what was either a 25ish' action/paramount looking boat with twin 300's that was pretty sweet looking. Either dark blue or black and white. Anyone have more photos of that boat in the sun?

It was a 16, blunt nose, narrow transom. Fun to drive with the 1500xs, but with the 2.4 it was outragious. Decided to become a "tunnel hugger instead of a wet pad flyer"

Would this be considered aired out? If anyone would like her shes in my back yard. The trailer doesnt fit it but you can have that too and it is very road worthy. I have a clean title for the action. I was gonna bring it down to scott at AFR to restore but just dont have the time.
