First public appearance was for the media in February, 1973 at Miami Marine Stadium.
First race was March, 1973 at the Parker Nine Hour. Two entered, they led the first lap - first time an outboard ever did that at Parker. One broke right after the first lap and the other started having problems during lap three.Last edited by willabee; 12-26-2014 at 01:02 PM.

Hello Parker, Before F1 and before IOGP there was NPA. Benny ran Merc's in both NPA and IOGP. In F1 Benny ran Velden and Second Effort hulls, they were built by David Lee, Lee Furnel and myself. I would think Benny has a Velden or two left. Happy Holidays

I've no idea what Benny has left. Just speculating on what might be left and it would probably be F1 stuff

Hi Vulture
What size were the hulls used with the v8's?
Did they need longer hulls than the other v6 f1 boats?
Thanks

happy seasons everyone.
Has anyone had any experience with tuning up a 2 cylinder 55hp Johnson Mid eighties 2 stroke motor?
Or a better question are there any links to twin OMC race motors from the 70s / 90s?
Thanks . Im thinking about building a 55hp ++ OMC short shaft tiller for a Zap Cat. See if we can increase on the perfromance from Merc and Tohatsu/Nissan .
