Last year on Snake Island a Manatee Mom & calf swung by & decided to hang out for awhile. Allowing the kids to pet them, etc. It was really something to see. Kids were having the time of their life, probly remember it forever?
Sadly some wanna be enviro ahole who refused to shut up felt the need to call and report this heinous Manatee molestation. Sheriffs showed up and bullhorned the kids away from the animals. Threatening their parents with arrest!?
Way to leave an impression on the children. Congratulations! Jerk offs ...'71 Glastron V153 - Composite rebuild - Unceremoniously wrecked

The manatee is nothing but a tool being used to amass funding to close our waterways to powerboating . Sad .

I don't live in FLA but am trying my best to migrate there. But you guys need to keep a copy of the 4th ammendment with you at all times. When stopped without cause or a mass check is being conducted hand them a copy and tell them they must need a refresher on the Bill of Rights.
Here in North Carolina we will have affective December 1 of this year House Rule 375. Basically it reads.
It shall be unlawful for any law enforcement agency or officer to conduct a checking station or roadblock unless the establishment of a checking station or roadblock is to cordon off an area to locate an offender specifically named in an arrest warrant. Any other person passing through the checking station or roadblock shall not be subject to arrest for any reason except when:
(1) The person has an outstanding warrant for arrest.
(2) The person has committed an implied consent offense and has been warned by a law enforcement officer at a checking station or roadblock not to proceed and the person continues through the checking station in contradiction to the warning."
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective December 1, 2011, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.

Bud , the FWC is the most powerful of all the police agencies in the state of Florida . The Manatee zones have been implemented , are posted , and you will be ticketed if in violation and safety checked . BTW you can be pulled over and safety checked at ANY time without other reasons , waving the piece of paper will not do you any good , just prolong your day ....

I believe you Tom if you say so. You live there no me. All I was saying basically is it started to work here in NC. The Bikers basically got the ball rolling by doing the 4th thing. Then enough people all together finally pressed the issue with their representatives and we will soon have a law protecting our 4th ammendment rights.
If a person breaks a law then they get whats coming to them. But to be pulled, stopped without probable cause just isn't right.
But it does seem you guys in FLA (I assume only in certain areas) have a hard road ahead when it comes to the Manatees and posted speeds.Bud Conner "Heathen" "Defending Our Constitution"

For years the rich who live on the water tried to stop the boat traffic . Time after time the cases were thrown out of court . It seems that the water doesnt belong to just the rich , well not yet anyhow.
They found a different angle to work , in essence if they made boater's , high speed boaters .. you know the type , the ones who travel at speeds greater than 25 mph out to be murderers of the sacred cow .. it worked . No judge or represenitive wants to go on record as supporting the slaughter of the sacred cow .. to confuze people with fact and tell them that most sacred cows are crushed by barges on the St. Johns would do just as good as saying the TSA is acting correctly in stopping the guy with the Semper-Fi tattoo while Ackmed and Habeeb walk freely by without much more than a passing glance ...
We have become a nation of idiots who think that the deterioration of our nation will somehow not impact our personal lifes . I feel my blood pressure rising , so I need to let this go ... for now .
I bought one of these , i wore it once , my wife cut it up and put it with the shop rags ... now I dont think we should perposly go out and kill these sacred cows into extinction ... but a little "un" common sense would go a long way ...

That is sad. I am so glad they are not up here! Are they still running the power plant just so it will heat the water for these slugs?
They are here too. Don't even need a search warrant. All they have to have is a suspicion. And abuse their power they do!

Perhaps the biggest lie perpetuated is 'speed kills'. They shock the general public with pictures of horrendous Manatee injuries. And, naturally, call for more no wake zones.
They fail to mention, and lucky for them the non-boating public doesn't notice, is that the most mangled Manatee were obviously struck by slow moving boats?
Sorry for the graphic pic but does this sea cow look like it was struck by a fast moving boat?!'71 Glastron V153 - Composite rebuild - Unceremoniously wrecked
