    So the unit is really simple,strong and quiet enough that I would say get the gauge/sender as it is difficult to hear/feel the unit hitting the end of its stroke when your in the water, especially with the motor idling. Built myself a hinged holeshot plate after some initial testing which performed much better than the fixed factory plate.

    I will get some pics posted shortly and yes the picture above is correct. in the full down position the engine plate and rods protrude about an inch or so below the rod slots. The factory hot shot plate simply covers the opening on the bottom leaving the bottom of the engine plate dragging on take off which would catch some water and lever the bow up momentarily.

    Had to order longer steering hoses, build new trim hoses, also built a holeshot plate under the offshore clamp between the engine plate and drive and a hydrofoil tucked up under the offshore exhaust snout above the cavitation plate. Got to run her yesterday and tested good. Working on pics
