I need help, testing 2.4 block

Is there a way to test block?
Welded up a crack/hole in exhaust area between 2 & 4, still get wtr in 2,4,6.
Stripped block, cant find anything. It did get hot, I know things can open up once warmed up.
Any way to test? Cyl cleaned up well. Dont want to rechrome if block is junk!

I guess that is possible. It was a fresh rebuild. After removing back plate, found the mech/builder had cut too deep with cutting wheel when doing exhaust work, they left the 1/4 in deep cuts, could see the hole in water area next to #4 cyl sleeve. Mech said merc defect in block, go figure. Yes, it got hot...but how long would it hold up with very thin material at bottom of cut. I'll try to post some pics. Just a bad,bad deal.
I'm not sure on the div plate gasket.

I had one getting wet in 2,4,6 i fixed it with a new gasket on the first try but took it apart 5 times because the milky water oil mix was still in all 3 cylenders and would not dry up on the hose i thought i still had a leak.I had to put it in the water and run it under a load to get it to dry up.I had fixed the leak the first try but took a load to dry it up just a little hint.

Well, thats good to know. How important is the center gasket on the divider(keeping exh seperate)
Its all clean and dry now. I guess I could put back together, give it a shot. Need to do some honing, hope to remove some scoring without effecting comp.
I'd like to find a fresh block.
Do you know if Ruck can test block before re chroming? some honing, hope to remove some scoring without effecting comp.
