double floor with no stringer???
Hey everyone I got a 89 vector that I'm guttin a replacing the stringers the stringer supports n the floor. One of my buddys told me to do a lower floor then another floor a few inches up from the lower floor and not to put in stringer n the supports. Has anyone heard of doing this any input would be great thanks

If you are going for performance and speed make the boat lighter, not heavier. A 1/2" floor is plenty.

Lightest and strongest would be like a comp boat, no floor, and larger stringers.

stringers are lighter and easier imo... only need 1/2" for the floor glass both sides of it and it aint goin anywhere.. while your in there check the core and transom as well! if your looking for them kinda speeds i would check and double check the core and transom... two most important parts of the boat!
double floor is a waste of time and glass... idk y you would do that
good luck with the boat

Beefy... I have to disagree w the solid glass idea
sorry.... the purpose of the core is to add strength and density
with out the added layers/weight. also, by piling on the glass without bagging there
is and increased chance of developing voids, potential for improper glass to resin ratios
trying to wet out multiple and hot spots from curing process. Balsa has the highest tensile strength.
You will need many many more layers of glass to achieve the same strength as the core. Increased glass and Resin will only make the boat heavier .... period. Viking yachts even uses on the 82C
Skater, and many other major mfg.s use it for a reason.
Please rethink.. this is just a suggestion..... but I urge you to read up.Formula 260ss 496HO
