Tunnel boat design software
Has anybody tried the boat design software from aeromarine reseach? I'd like to try it, just want some feedback from those who have used it before spending the $400 on it.

There is a review of it here somewhere. They , Greg and Helmet tested it on the euro. It predicted the way the euro would handle and top speed, the euro passing the bubble etc. So, yeah, it is good!

It does EXACTLY what it says it does ... you can even do some V bottoms with it to predict speed and handling.
If you have $400 and are considering it, you will not be sorry

It is a great program, I bought the book first then the software. Reading the book first seemed to help understanding things. JMO

Yeah, ditto on the book. You can actually do all the calculations with the book if you are a math head.
Get the book first and you'll see why you want the software or that you don't want it.

I never heard of this software, but I am going to check it out. See if maybe there is a free demo.
I have worked with many CADs of the years bring I work in that field and actually , I am drawing
my tunnel in AutoCad. ( my fav.)
I haven't found many(CADs) that does not have a huge learning curve to them. This is a great question
for one of you guys that have the software.
How is the learning curve? How long did it take you to get familiar that software? If you think this is fun, wait til next weekend!

Its not CAD software, its the aerodynamics/hydrodynamics side. Without proper lifting and running surfaces it doesn't matter how you do the lofting. This software tells you how wide, how long, how deep, how thick vs your input power and weight ... then you still need to do the CAD after you know what to draw.
