    Question Bp?

OK, anyone know what BP really stands for? I was about 12 when they came out. A man in town had one on a Contender. We all figured it meant Big and Powerful, seemed to fit!

    How About 4 of them!

The business end of my 1969 Bahama 500 32' Cary. The sweetest boat I ever ran. Sounded like a 1000# dog bark when they came out of the water in the rough stuff. - Steve Sirois

In the case of Seeroy's boat it stands for Burns Petrol.

In the case of early inline 6 race motors it means Blueprinted and in the later V6s Bridgeport.

Mercnut - You are right about that "Burns Petrol".....I ran out of gas about 10 miles short of the finish. Mr K sent a helicopter (with floats) to my rescue with just enough gas , in 5 gallon jerry cans, in order to finish. Thanks for the backup on "Blue Print or Blueprinted"...that is what I understood the acronym stood for....but that was only 42 years ago. I wrote a story on "Life at Lake X in the 60's" thread about that race. - Seeroy
