Clamps are the same the swivel and swivel pin are shorter. If you buy a merc one it has 2 inches of setback built into it. If you have someone shorten one for you it wont unless they do some modifications to it or have the ram shortened.

Any update on the Stage 2 project?

Have there been any issues with the Stage 1.1 kits regarding the higher 7k rev limit? Have there been any longevity or reliability issues associated with the higher limit?

Like others, I have several friends running X/XS engines on 30-32 foot offshore cats. The engines seem to be highly reliable, but they are eating lowers on a semi-regular basis. The seal kits on the lowers have helped slightly, but they are still trashing them way too often. While a 350-400 hp Opti sounds fantastic, I can only imagine how many lowers such an engine would destroy, especially if used for offshore use.

Regarding the lowers on a 3.2 , I too have lost two lowers but I also have managed to get 300 + hrs outa both , I've found that changing gear oil on a more than regular basis has been my good luck charm ... Hope this helps

Hopefully they're just really busy but starting to get a little scary for outboard performance guys
