    Digital tach-Merc 280?

Anybody out there successfully using a digital tachometer on a Merc 280 motor? I have a digital tach hooked up to my 280 but I get erratic readings. It may jump around within a 300-400rpm range at times. I have checked all connections and everything there seems OK. Do digital tachs just not work right with a 280??

I've run a few boats with dig. tachs and hated it! might be alright with a single, but multiple engine setups I find takes too long for the brain to digest the information! much quicher to glance at the needles leaving more time to read the water!

I use a nordskog Digital GPS Speedometer, Tacho,Compass,Volt combo
Works good and accurate, just dont go to the fine setting on the RPM on the dip switches as the last few digits jump around. I have mine set to a 100 as the smallest graduation
You cant get the Nordskog one now but they are out there under other brand names. Well pleased with it. In fact I'm looking for a 2nd one for my next project
