Also, there is wood in the Riots even though many people say there is not. Not much but there is. There are 4 pieces laminated in the hull where the gas tank bolts down as the bolts will pull through the Klegecell and there are also two pieces for the seat bases. All 4 where the gas tank bolts down on mine were bad and I had them repaired plus I changed the way the tank is held in place so that will no longer be an issue. The seat bases I will live with the way they are.

Any opinion as to overall setup ? I read most will porpoise in the 60 to 80 mph range and mine does... It has a 4" Land & Sea plate but I read the hull was designed to run best at speed with no extra setback... Only props I've tried so far is a 14.5x26 Yamaha Drag copy by PowerTech and a 14.5x26 Merc. 4 blade hump-back cleaver... I thought the cleaver would have helped with the porpoise but really did'nt much... My boat is port side steer and I'm surprised the battery is also mounted on the same side... I'm going to move it to the starboard side and maybe farther forward... I'm thinking some weight forward would counter-act the setback if I dont remove the jackplate... Also have been running the propshaft betweeen even with the pad to one inch above... It seemed to porpoise slightly more when the motor was at 1" above then when it was even with the pad... I've had STV's in the past which did'nt do this much if at all... This Riot flys the bow higher with less trim than the STV's did... Either the hull is lighter or it's getting more lift from the air... The dash and seats also seem farther back than in the STV's...

Sorry for the delayed response I don't get on here much anymore...

I had a 1995 Riot which was mostly white with a hot pink stripe down the side...

I would not buy one of those again as I think that was a poorly designed hull 4 outboard power as it originally was designed as a jet boat and had the steering wheel on the left side....

No matter what I did with engine height or setback or weight distribution inside the boat it had a bad porpoise between about 60 and 80 miles an hour depending on setup... The porpoise could be driven through but it got rather annoying and I also feel it's a little unsafe...

It had deep tunnels which had something to do with the porpoise problem but on the flip side the deep tunnels made the boat very good in rough water,, it's just not as fast as other halls with shallower tunnels....

Before the Riot I had two STV's both with the 2.5 EFI/260 Merc.... A red/ black/ white 1992 Pro Comp with the ski bottom and a blue /white 1995 STV Euro with the race bottom....
Both of those were far superior in performance and handling to the Riot.... By far my favorite boat I've ever owned was the 1992 Pro Comp...
