09 225 Pro XS-What mods can be done and how much more HP can I gain???

I have a 225 pro xs and am wanting to mod it out. How much hp can I gain? Im thinking about going to a 250 xs or Pro XS. But want to see if it will be better to just mod mine out instead.

when she's out of warranty...you can pop the welch plugs[if it has] off the air and fuel regulators...then...use a good allen wrench to bump up the air and fuel pressures a tad bit ...

Okay let me hear it from you boys. Yall know all about the speed stuff. If I were to put a bobs nose cone on my 225 pro xs, how would it run. Im thinking this, Lighten flywheel, ecu upgrade, hydrotec exhaust tuner, little bit bigger prop. What do ya think?

Hey Zack, we need a little more information, mainly what boat are you going to be running.

The nose cone will prob slow you down due to more drag, its only helps to use the nose cone when your boat is running faster than 85 and the added length from the nose cone prevents blow out. The light weight flywheel will let the engine spool up faster due to less rotating mass, might give give you a faster hole shot and mid range accel. There will be a new ecu upgrade later this year which may give the 225 Pro XS some more horses. Most say that the hydrotec exhaust tuner dosent do much but make the motor louder. You did not say what prop or rpm's your running right now but you might try a lab finished 27 tempest or trophy. One other thing, try to get the motor as high as you can untill rpms start to go up and speed falls off then drop it down about a 1/4 inch be sure to keep an eye on water press, dont let it drop below 15 pounds at WOT. Call Eric at Simon MotorSports about the ecu upgrade and light weight flywheel. Hope this helps.

I'm running a stock torquemaster lower unit. It's got the 4 pickups right on the nose.
