Chris Carson Marine..........
I have been trying to get my boat recored and my engine rebuilt for almost 2 years now, and in the quest for information and motivation to get it all done I spoke with Stan Carson originally about it and recently had a long conversation with Chris Carson. I want to take a minute here and let everyone know about my experience with them, I think Its only fair to get the truth out!
I am going to start with my conversation with Chris, I PM'd him on here one night about wanting to talk with him about my 200 crossflow and what I wanted done. He PM'd me back within a few minutes with his phone number and told me to give the next day to discuss it. So I called the next day at about 9:30 in the AM. Chris sounded a listed busy and after I reminded him of my PM the night before and he asked if he could call me back. He called me back about 5:30 PM and left a message. In his message he didn't just say "hey sorry, slipped my mind" he GENUINELY apologized for not getting back to me sooner, no excuses, no BS. I was in the marine business for 10 years and I have NEVER heard an owner take that much responsibility and pride in his business to do something like that. Usually its just "hey, got busy here, call me back". That impressed me right off the bat! in his message he asked me to return his call that night. Seemed the number he gave me was his cell number. So I called back after work at about 6:30 and he again needed to call be back, which he did in about 5 minutes. The man knows how to treat customers. he and I spoke for about 30 minutes about what i was looking to do with my crossflow. Like I said I was in the business for 10 years and I can tell this man knows his way around an outboard!
Before I spoke with Chris, I had spoken with his son Stan. I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with my motor when it got to that point and Stan really helped me get alot closer and sold me a set of sport reeds. I told him I wanted the reeds but I wasn't going to buy them this I got my check at the end of the week, Stan sent me the reeds anyway and told me to pay him when I got paid. which I did on that Friday, Stan had gotten them out to me so fast I had them in my hands with a hand written note, before I even got paid that week. Stan talked to me like football fans talk about the super-bowl, the enthusiasm and passion he has for what he does really shows. Stan and Chris both really know what they are doing.
Why am I bothering to post about it? well today I finally got around to installing the reeds in the cages and I have to say I am really happy with the product so far. The reeds are a little oversize from stock which should give them a really good seal. Everything lined up perfectly and the quality was top notch!
Well that is my experience with CC Marine so far. I know I don't have much technical info from them in this post but you can read their own words on here and see for yourself that they know their stuff. But you can't tell how they run their business from that alone, so I wanted to let everyone know how they operate.Don't lick my boat, It makes it sticky!

Chris Carson and family have been great supporters of Scream And Fly, and I've always heard nothing but great feedback about them. Those reeds look great, I'm looking forward to hearing how they run.

Me too, From what I have read I am betting I can tell how they run before I even run them! That's the great thing about Scream and fly and venders like Chris Carson Marine, and Jay Smith. These guys tell you about their product straight up and usually first person testimonials are in ready supply!

Good Deal,
I ordered my reeds last week, and may have some other motor work done this summer, maybe I'll just leave the boat with them, and let them do it after one of our keys runs. and show back up to test it the following week

that sounds like a plan rchevelle71! Actually that reminds me of one more thing. Chris said he has a tech who does mobile runs for him and gets up my way every 2 weeks and he will have him pick up my parts to save on shipping. Chris wants to make a good impression, its really great that he still works that hard at doing it right even after doing it for 27 years!

Got the reeds a few days ago, they look great, but they are gonna sit on a shelf along with the solid mounts until I have all of the parts(ordering something each pay period), might as well get the injectors serviced, and add a 1" spacer while I am in there, and pull the powerhead and change mounts at the same time, gonna be a FUN summer
