I also have a 23/25 Fountain CC. Mine has a 225 Opti and we have run every prop imaginable. The best we found to be the Hydromotive Quad IV-X but you might want to try a Bravo. I cant spin a 22 Bravo but you sure will be able to or bigger. Maybe the new Bravo XS. The hull tends to porpoise under 40 mph and the Hydro settled it down a lot over the Rev4 that came on the boat.
Mount the engine all the way up. MIne came with the engine all the way down and we kept moving it up. Its now all the way up and water pressure is great. Speed and porpoising got better as well. This of course is assuming they drilled the transom the same. I can take a measurement of you want.

gary, the only change that had been done on any of the new opti's are the lower motor mount covers. the new style has 3 screws on each cover to help with cracking.Mercury will replace them as a set once they break.

Not to bust your ballz but that's not correct, there were a few changes / updates made... Several bearings and seals were changed. The coils were all changed and also the ignition harness. I've also heard the processor in the ECU was changed or updated
but I can't confirm that one.....

Gary, what lower unit ratio did your XS come with? Im assuming it is a Torque master?

My boat should be home tomorrow.
My bet is 56mph set up well. Thats what the HP calculator says anyway
I has aachnce o pick up a 300XS CHeAP and did some calculating and came up with 56mph. Wasnt worth 6mph for me so I spent the $ on the little tunnel.

56mph is 55+ that will have to do if your cal. are right, the 300xs is to replace a gas gulping 250efi,that Im going to sell this spring,Ive had somthing that would run 95+ for 14yrs so Ive had my fun, just thought it would run a little faster than 56, but if that is all it will do Im good with it,I just wont be burning as much fuel with the 300 vs this 250efi,and thanks for your interest, let me know what those mesurments are

btw its snowing like sh!* here

The measurement from the center of the top engine mount bolt to the top of the transom (mine has an aluminum cap) is exactly 2".

Give Ken at Propgods a call. He has propped out a few 23/25 Fountains and has the calculator I used. He has some good data and is a good guy to talk to.
