It is a widened 26' Redline with a pod added . The 26' Awesome was also pulled from the Redline they probably got ahold of a 26' Awesome and cute and wacked it . There where only a few of the 26' Redline's built before the 29' was built , this is noy to be confused with the west coast redline the one I talking about was built in Michigan.
The way you can tell ib by the bodyline and strake on the sponson. I will post a pick of my 26' Redline which is the first to come out of the molds, and to answer your question it will fly with a pair of 2.5's with that wider tunnel if they did not change the running surface and build it to heavy.

Even the deck is the same just above the rubrail you can see the same bodyline and strake position on the sponson except they lowered the tunnel which is a mistake . Here is the tunnel on the oringinal hull.

I can't imagine that thing rides or runs very well, like Spark said they took all the tunnel out of it and added a halfassed pod to try and keep the drive happy.

If they would have just flattened out the tunnel and added some width there and put in the pod for the single application I/O it would of probably been a winner, but like Lynn said they took all the tunnel out. We just flattened out the tunnel in my 32' mold to add some width in the tunnel when we pull the next hull . Here a couple of pic's of the glass panels already in tooling gel.Click image for larger version.

Why dont ya ask Jim ?
I saw the plug to that boat at his place and the molds he built from it.
They had one with a 502 and it ran 82 i think it was.
He sure builds a nice boat...i had a tx-20 from him.
He dont half A-- nothing and is a very nice man and stands behind everything he builds.

I know he builds AWESOME BOATS I owned on of his 20' pickel forks. I did ask him he said he has never built one with outboards or a single outboard. I was wondering what this might be simular too I wana ask him what it would cost to build me a hull with interior but I wana know what I am getting into before hand.

You must have talked to Jim Jones , his dad Jim Klem built one 26' with outboards twin 200 mercs it was a sled ! Low 70's at best and the tunnel came out ! I know the guy up by flint michigan that has it now. The same guy that pulled the mold off the redline ( Garhardt Sampson ) streched a 15' Image nitro to build the 20' Awesome there was two sets of molds built. A man named Ron Lewis AKA the junkman from florida oringinally from michigan, paid garhardt to pull the molds and a second set was built on thesly and Klem bought them.
The owner you probably know Jim Jones did a far better job than his dad building the awesomes, but still to heavy. Can you say to fat to fly !
