just popped the hatch out of the mold and i am pretty happy with the way it came out. this was a learning experience and i think its pretty good for my first attempt. i gave it a quick trimming, it still needs to be trimmed further and seated properly. it is very strong and only about 30-35 lbs. i was jumping on it and it doesnt even flex and i still have to glass the supports underneath.

i may try to put lifts on it eventually but i think right now its just staying the way it is. i want to get the boat usable then i can play around with little stuff. i just threw one of those fills in the garbage, is that the original? im going with a new attwood indy fill.

The fill on my challenger has three mounting holes so I dont think this is an original fuel fill. It is an attwood it think. Very heavy not a cheapie

that one looks like the original style cap, the attwood is newer looking, has a flush mounted look to it, i think its a little nicer than the older style ones. seadog still makes that original fill and you arent kidding they are not cheap close too $100 i think

Yeah I was talking more about weight wise. Deff feels like brass chrome plated. If you can use it let me know. I will throw it in a flat rate box and it will be my contribution to the cause.

you guys realize thats not like a "race hatch", it was replacing the hatch that was already there
but im sure with some modifications it can be made into a race hatch
reminds me of my buddy who had me make one for his Progression, he says "everyone wants one of these make a mold and I bet you sell a few of them", well a year later I threw the mold in the garbage and since then only one person wanted one and didnt even want to pay anything for it anyhowRaybo Marine http://www.raybomarine.com/

yes this is not a race hatch, it is the rear hatch for an i/o shadow. i may be able to use this hatch as a plug for a race hatch when i build one but the radius of curvature of the rear part of the deck and the forward deck support are very different so when i make the race hatch i and going to have to play a bit to get it right. i threw this mold together in about an hour, it is not perfect but it is 100 times better than the old one, with a little tweaking and persuasion it will look pretty good i think. the hole this hatch lays in is crooked as **** anyway so i will play to get it as close as i can.
i would think about making a couple if you guys were interested but they arent going to be cheap and im very busy right now with all the stuff i have going on, shipping will probably be a pita also. if you want to try to make one send me a pm i will walk you through it its pretty simple.
