i will we putting a tent up over the boat in the next few weeks but right now it has the canvas cockpit cover, and two large thick tarps over it to keep any water from entering the inside of the hull. so far it has stayed dry, but i guess it couldnt hurt to seal it up

got some work done the past two days, not as much as i had expected due to some ****ty weather friday but its still progress. got the shadow in its new winter home!

and began to lay my transom up today. got the wood fitted and its laminated and drying as i type this. Plans for tomorrow are to get the transom glassed together and hopefully pasted into the boat. have some family obligations in the afternoon so i will get as far as i can. Love the cheapo carport from pepboys, now i can work till all hours of the night, my neighbors going to love me haha. id be out there still working now but i have to keep the girlfriend happy too!

yup no wax resin, i shouldnt have any adhesion problems. wipe with some acetone and i should be good to go. i have a full transom plate was on the boat when i bought it so im gonna use it to help sandwhich the new transom boards in and keep the outer skin somewhat straight. the transom is going to go in as one piece, the two boards will be glassed together just didnt get that far yet

No wax is not suitable for Hotcoat he suggests.
You still have a recoat window for Chemical bond on No wax.,
Surface should be nice and rough for proper adhesion.
Good luck Fellas, I'll be quiet now

who suggested no wax resin was not suitable for hotcoating?
u dont have to be quiet lol i appreciate peoples input and suggestions i guess i just didnt understand what you were suggesting. i have to laminate the boards at some point, i would rather scuff some areas up on laminated sections than have to apply everything wet in one shot and make a giant mess. hotcoat is almost the same as laminating resin with the exception of the surfacing agent from my understanding.

Someone mentioned brushing ground core areas w resin, Use high quality resin for this to get the clarity, I am saying wax free Resin is not good for Hot coating because it will always have a slight tack
unless you add wax. This Tack attracts dirt from work in other areas as well as shoe bottoms.
You will need to add wax to your final coat or gel over. IF you do that w extra material, you will wind up w blotchy spots in the end, hot coating w unwaxed is just extra unnecessary step.

The unwaxed is good for stringer floor and bulkead lamination but does not eliminate the need for a quick
grind if you are not recoating within a day or so, even then, I hit the area w 36 grit on a big DA, just to knock
down any high spots between coats
