Two things I remember about mine before you glass the floor it had access panels for the fuel tank, it was trimmed around it with stainless.
small 8" round access holes in front of each seat stanchion so you can through bolt the seats to the floor which I remember became quite important when one of my drunk fat ass friends pulled the bolts half way through the floor while running to manhattan after drinking too much at Aj's in Atlantic beach. In hind site I would have put laminated blocking under the floor to increase the strength.
What do you plan On using to finish the floor? I always told myself that if I ever redid the floor I was going to use that Armstrong stuff with the dots.
Keep it up I know the cold sucks

the tank is permanantly glassed in and no longer has the access hatch, and im not using the factory seat bases. i am going to be making fiberglass bases and glasseing them down to the floor. those stainless bases are rediculously heavy so i will cut down on some weight and also have a new floor with zero holes for water intrusion. the surface of the deck is going to be getting a layer of 1.5 ounce matt and a layer of 1708 biaxial. i am going to leave the floor raw finish and roll gelcoat on it. i had planned on fairing and painting it but thats going to end up taking me awhile. mikeylarge's deck was done with gelcoat under raw finish and it looks excellent, so ill be doing the same to save me some time. I layed down two layer of very wet matt on top of the stringer wrapping the first layer to help seal the stringer and then the floor was screwed down to the stringers. the floor is not moving anywhere its down good and tight and after its lominated over the top its going to be pretty rigid.
Ronnie: the case looks like its coming along nicely! cant wait to see it all finishedLast edited by 87starflite; 01-24-2011 at 07:49 AM.

Picture of my floor for example.... no frils, glassed gas tank hatch down and did some quick ginding and rolled 2 coats of gelcoat over the 1708 looks pretty good, amd I dont have to really care about it because its not perfect!
