Rick, Got it near Dallas. The mid is kind of a mystery to me. You would think someone who had a BP would have kept it hi performance if it lost a powerhead. I guess it was scavenged for parts and rebuilt with stock stuff years later. Would love to hear the story.
I don't know about sweet but I bet everybody will hear it alright....OK, I got down off the porch and ran with the big dogs....kinda sore now....think I'll just lay here in the flowerbed for a while...

I got to finish the rough sanding on the bottom last weekend and ordered the primer. Still got a few places to fill. ....just wish there was hope of it getting warm enough to SHOOT the primer anytime soon....
I took all the excess junk off the trailer to get it ready for repaint too. I've done three boats now and all three trailers had about a half dozen or more bolted on gizmos that needed to be trashed...why do people do that?OK, I got down off the porch and ran with the big dogs....kinda sore now....think I'll just lay here in the flowerbed for a while...

Rick. As I mentioned before, it just keeps looking worse until the 1st primer coat. I guess it looks as bad as it is going to now. Don't know about talent, patience maybe....persistence definitely

RJ! Dude there are a few of us looking for YOU!
Specifically Jeff (Sonik) is wanting to get together with you and check out the yellow boat. It seems the trim tabs controversy is still simmering. He also would like to get you to some of the Hydrostream Power tour events. Plus Hippie's been asking if you are a member over on his Hydrostream site.
Good to hear from you!

I am one of them! I would love to see that boat in person. I followed Bernies build thread and have looked at it over and over and was sad to see him sell it but was excited to see it end up up here in Minnesota. And just down the road from me too. I would love to come see that thing and I am sure Chet would also.

Well keep getting requests for pics, keep saying it's really ugly, so I guess I should record just how ugly so I can look back and remember...
here's what I'm cleaning up currently, yes I do have a nack for finding ugly trailers....
The red primer is what I have cleaned and painted, the thing will eventually be satin black, because I can't find any 'invisible' paint.

Bruster....I spent some time trying to RESTORE the two wedges.....tell me more? I assumed they were an anti-porpoising attempt?

I would spend some more time and grind them off. You work hard to make the bottom of your boat flat. Why would you want 2 big carefully restored hooks on the bottom of your boat?

I'll take your advise. I was concerned that the wedges were gonna keep the bow from flying, just like you mentioned in your PM. It'll just take a pass or two with the grinder.
I was thinking that maybe they are not large enough to change the running attitude of the hull but maybe big enough to avoid porpoising.
I guess if I'm gonna run a flatty, it might as well be flat....Thanks.Last edited by oldskier; 02-16-2011 at 08:56 AM.
