Merc /Yamaha 225 Hp 4 Stroke Frankenstein
I am trying to get any info. on the 2006 Merc / Yamaha 225 HP 4 stroke. I understand Yamaha made the powerheads for Merc. for 1 or 2 years, are these motors any good? They are on a mid 30 foot cc. the engines have 200 hours on them. I dont want to get involved with a motor that is either a lot of trouble, or very expensive to keep running?

Extremely good motors provided the previous owners did maintance. #1 change oil every 100 hrs #2 supply low dosage of ring free or carbon guard. Dealer can supply download of operation for history. The only part of being a Mercury is the decal, serial number and phantom black paint, still then it's in built in Hammatsu City Japan. Thanks Martin
