GPS test run with a cool new camera.

Windy day, full tank and oversized prop but 81 isn't too bad considering it was about 400 rpm shy of its mark.

I like your new camera. Nice clear video. Is there a way to get rid of the wind noise in the recording?

Yeah and only $99 I was told. With all kinds of mounting hardware. A friend of mine gave it to me. I am thinking of buying a few more so I can mount like 5 at once.

Yes triple digits. I figure a whippled 565" should get it close. My engine builder has done three engines for me in the last 3 years between cars and the boat. As soon as He finishes one I feel the need to build another. I figure 20K more might equal another 15 mph. Thats about $1300 per mph. Isn't that kind of a boating standard.

    Oh, Dont know him...

Cats gather air under them causing them to kite and or walk. I feel much safer in a Vee bottom in the real rough stuff as long as they arent ventelated. The camera is a Midland XTC-100. The GPS is a Garmin 192C

[QUOTE][Is there a way to get rid of the wind noise in the recording? /QUOTE]

I`ve often wondered that myself. What about a microphone mounted under the deck out of the wind? That way we could hear the sound of the motor but no wind noise. Do they make such a thing?

We usee to mount a mic in the engine compartment on the P-5 boat, kinda hard with an ouboard though.

The throttles cant control wind. Ask anybody who has raced both. A Vee is safer in rough water. In my 22 Velocity I have spanked a few 24 skaters in the real rough water. They would jump ahead until the wind came into play. I would watch them walk sideways causing them to have to slow down while I passed. Im not talking about chop in the bay. Im referring about big sloppy water. In steady chop a cat is a smother and faster ride. But in the rolling, breaking snot a Vee hull is a safer bet. A ventilated Vee is a faster bottom then a conventional pad or deep Vee but they can get squirrely especially when turning at high speeds. The point where my boat got squirrely was when I was hitting some strong side waves @ 78 mph however I steered it right out. I thought all of this was basic knowledge??
