94 xr6 with wmh-32 carbs jetting
I'm looking for suggestions on what to jet these carbs? These are the 1st year of the bigger venturi on the xr6. I am not ruining the long 150 tuner and no air box. Also, still at stock comp around 125lbs on my gauge. Carbs currently have .062 stock 150 main jets. Thanks

shouldn't make a lot of difference as the engine is a 2.5 as is a 200. Do a power on plug reading using NGK BR9-HS10 gap type plugs at .035. Warm the engine up and make a full power run up to around 6000 and cut the engine off with the throttle wide open. DO NOT RESTART THE ENGINE. Pull the plugs and examine them closely. The porcelin should be a dark tan to a light chocolate brown. You should be able to see a distinct heat line on the ground strap. If the porcelin is dark or black your too rich. Light tan or white.. too lean. Heat line on the ground strap shoule be back about 1/8 inch from the tip if it goes to the curve you're a little lean. I wouldn't increase my main jet size but .002 to .004 at the time. Hope this helps.

Thanks, and yes that helps. In my book I noticed the 245 carb motor was only running .068 main jets on the non pumper carbs, which had me thinking it wouldn't need alot more jet, like you just stated. This is my first time running the wmh carbs.

...and remember that a little rich is forgiving! I tend to find that my applications (bass boats) that I build seem to run better when they are a little rich. Just my experiences.
