    10xs

Never seen a 10XS that looks so much like a fishing motor.

Another case of "you can use this for" turning into "this is"

This is an example of why I complain about this kind of thing. I think the guy he bought it from said "you can use this for" and he forgot that detail, just remembering the connection ... I don't think this guy was "taken" unless it was by his own imagination.

I think the only difference is the decal and the carb butterfly if you are recreating a 10XS. There are more KG9 powerheads pretending to be KG9H powerheads than stand ins for XS's.

The 10XS came with cowls. The 60J from the late 60's and the 25ss from the mid 70's were the ones without cowls

I have a 1988 HI performance catalog with a 10XS it has a cowl a little smaller than the 25XS the center section looks the same and it has a 1.31:1 speedmaster on it. The cowl has a rubber strap on the rear holding it down like the F1 cowls have. Its 12.7cu.in. weight is 65lbs. Says to be used in APBA class ... J pro hydro,J mod hydro and 125cc hydro.

Speedmasters are much larger, the 10XS & 25XS lower units are called "Quicksilver" ... the 1.31 ratio is usually called 16:21. Good eye on the center section, the same one was used on the 10, 25 and 44. The only class the 10XS was eventually approved for was J PRO

Since we are getting real technically and politically correct here with quicky vs speedmaster and so forth, there is no such thing as a 1350 BP. The BP's from Mercury were 1000BP & 1000 Super BP, 1250BP & 1250 Super BP.

There is no such thing as a customer 1350 BP ... 1970 factory race team motors were 1350 BP's with regular decals ... ask the guys who built them and raced them ...

I am restoring a 1961 800 BP with EFI and Stacks and a #4 SSM 1.45:1 ratio with a nibral 2 bladed elephant ear prop and bail-a-matic all as originally built at Lake Z in the Ozarks.

    It's very unique..........
    20 Foot Switzer Wing 2 X S3000 (Dust'n the Wind II)
!6 foot Wood Eltro Vee (2X Merc 1500's) (Dust'n the Wind IV)
    15 foot Powercat 15C (2 X Merc 1500) (Dust'n the Wind III)
(Single engine boats are lacking something)
    15’ Wooden Switzer Shooting Star...
16 foot Lee Craft Merc S 3000-(Gold Dust II)
    (The exception proves the rule)

With all of your resources you need to do something a little more original, 800 EFI BP's with stacks, we have 2 or 3 of these just around my neighborhood.....

I hope I get this correct this time , no its not a BP its a 1350 with water injected stacks . It had a cowling with stock 1350 decals on it . In the mid 70s I blew it over it was on the back of a glastron molinai now it has a 1250 bp cowling because the original was destroyed.the glastron was the single Gene Piel drove for Glastron.
