Stock opt's run 87 or 89 octane to run right. With the upgrade i was told i could run 93 octane. The reason is i believed timing was changed to allow this. At this point i was told more octane than that (above 93) wouldnt help. The higher octane just helps preventing spark knock. After the ecu and flywheel upgrade im planing to drill the hole and change reeds and cage. If your like me and trying to get some gains without getting too deep into motor you will need a little more air. After freeing up intake and exaust all thats left is internal mods. Theres no replacment for displacment. When i can afford it im going too a 300 .(running 250 now).

A few days ago i was looking into my Seloc Mercury's manual and i found that stock Optimax's thermostat open at 48 degrees celcius and Opti's XS,Pro and Sport open at 54!
Does this 6 degrees difference in temperature affect performance?
