you will most likely have to take the boat to an agent and have them build a policy for it it will probly be high $

thanks guys. its funny, ihad the 24 skater with geico no problem. and the allison with progressive no problem. once they saw "tunnel hull" they freaked. i'll post the outcome on this threadbecause there has to be an outcome. too many personal injury attorneys in miami to use one of our toys without coverage.

A lot of companies I called wouldn't touch a boat over 60 mph. I emailed a company with particulars [challenger 21 twin]. the girl phones me and I'm thinking [great a girl],she says how fast is that boat! I reply about 70!She says; GIVE ME A FREAKIN BREAK, I've Got a runabout with 1 motor and it will do 70! Sooo, I go a little higher and give her 80! she says your gettin closer[I'm thinkin does linders have a daughter that works for an Ins. co. So we start chattin and she says what kind of experience do you have with fast boats and I'm thinkin would you tell your car ins. guy that you raced cars for a living [hell no] so I tell her I've been driving boats since I was a kid and a marine mechanic for 25yrs. and she says what experience driving so I anti up and tell her about the offshore experience, she says we'll cover you! 1200.00 choke!

State Farm insures my STV and Scarab. Only company that I found that would do BOTH (one is fast, the other is old). Since then, I have dropped Allstate for my homeowners and truck insurance, and SF saved me $1000/year for all of it.
Boats only were $64/month with agreed value policies.Keith-

Do most insurance companies have a problem with overpowered boats? I have a ventura with a 235 that I got covered for about $100 a year

Insurance companies don't have a 'problem' collecting just paying! If the boat is overpowered! you better not make a claim for ''blow over or barrel roll!

State Farm out here, only questions they ask is if it is overpowered, (they haven't said anything about the ones without a coast guard tag though ). Good luck
