Working on a sled. Need suggestions.

Just bought a '94 Arctic Cat ZR700. I can see the fuel lines have air bubbles in them when it is running. It is a twin and runs on one cylinder because of it. It comes to life when I slightly pull up the choke. Does this sound like a fuel pump problem? The filter doesn't seem to be plugged because when you turn off the fuel valve and then open it while it is running the gas goes thru the lines quickly. Any suggestions what I should try first?

The first thing I'd do is pull the air box and go though the carbs. Check the pilot jets, the cylinder that's not running probably has a gummed up pilot jet, then again maybe the plug is fouled. Clean out the airbox, I'm sure its full of crap.

If you don't know the history of the sled I'd suggest replacing the bearing on the jackshaft right behind the driven clutch, It's only 10.00 and would save you a lot of grief on the trail. You might consider changing all four.

    Thanks!

I'll try that today. The chain was replaced I'm hoping the bearings were too. Probably should replace those anyway like you said. Nice 800. I also have a 2000 ZR600, 95 ZRT600, and 87 ElTigre 5000 for my kids. We all trade sleds when we ride.

Hey, I haven't been on this site in a while. I've ridden some MXZ's before. You'll love it. I like them all. I fixed that cat and it ran great all season. I can't even remember what was wrong now. I think a clogged main jet. Boating season is close!!!

    Thumbs up

I can't believe I am getting hits on this thread I started last year! A friend of mine bought an RX-1 too. He loves his too. Especially on the lake. Careful letting off the throttle too quick if your in a rough section. There is a lot of compression and the nose will drop quick. I heard of people doing endo's. If your thinking of it I'm sure there is no problem. Just like the trim button! We got all the snow in upstate NY this year. Riding until April around here.
