V-King YT re-do
Finally almost done with fiberglass repair. New core & floors installed and sealed. Floor is going to get white gelcoat finish soon and then the rigging can begin. Happy the itchy part is almost over!

Pulled about 12-15 trashbags worth of wet foam out of the sponsons as well. Probably weighed about 100-125lbs total!! Stuff looked and felt dry until it was squeezed and water poured out like a sponge. Foam will stay out and never go back in. Something to look into if anyone is re-doing one of these YT hulls. Also, Craftsman multi-tool with the cutter/scraper/sanding attachments became my best friend when doing some of the finish work/foam removal. Well worth the $99 bucks it costs. Doesn't make a mess when cutting fiberglass and the scraper attachement worked great fort he foam removal.

There is a small section toward the rear of the sponsons that does have core. About a 3 foot long section. I will probably end up doing that at a later date and relocating the drain holes since they were cut right into the core in the first place. I wasn't going to remove all the foam, but, I am glad I did considering how wet and heavy it was. Should've lightened it up quite bit.

Actually only hold about 8-10 gallons a piece. They look larger in the picture than they really are. Battling engine gremlins now, broken coil wire and bad fuel pump. Got them all fixed and going to get out again in the morning and see what happens. By far an excellent handling boat, great fun!
