Looks awesome. The previous owner must have taken great care of it.
yeah and with my old boat!
Hope to see it today. Having a hard time getting together. Either he is busy or we are. Scott is on call today but I might go alone. Need him to get it so I can stay on this thread.
I noticed. Finally got your boat off my avatar too.

Hello…I found this thread about two weeks ago because I just repowered and was looking for some information and ideas. It took me a week to read through the first post to the last!
So here is my setup:
Year:1987 (I am the original owner. Purchased new, more than ½ of my lifetime ago.)
Motor: 2014 250 Pro XS
Gearcase: Fleetmaster 1.75
Setback: 6” CMC Hydraulic jack plate CMC
Factory setback: 6”
Engine height: Variable. The jack plate is mounted to the transom on lowest on the bottom holes. The motor is mounted to jack plate up one hole. Runs best andfastest at low height p/s app 2 inch below pad, and trimmed high.
Prop: 25 Tempest no vents. Was blueprinted, thinned and the cup increased..
Kevlar or not: no.
Engine Rpm: 5900 -6K
Speed: 70 <o></o>
Old power:1995 200 XRI and 1987 220 Laser
I picked upquite a bit of information from this thread. I don’t have much to add here. One thing is for sure: From all of the input from members to this thread, and from real side by side comparisons with other 22’s over the years, is that every 22 will perform uniquely even if they are all setup exactly the same and with the same exact prop!
<o></o>
I do want to add mythoughts on the new 250 Pro XS on this boat:.
Power, Power, Horsepower.(Duh). I believe 250 is now plenty.
But it is much louder and actually vibrates the boat. Are there solid mounts on this? My old 2.5 and 2.4 were much quieter and smoother.
The fuel consumption is HALF the 2.5 200EFI.
The 25 Tempest was always the best prop for this boat but now I want to try a 26 pitch 4 blade.I haven’t decided what model. I am not partial to merc props. Ill be happy with 75.

Boat looks great! You should deff be getting more than 70 out of the boat. I'm running a 96 225 efi3.0l and I'm getting 70 with a 25 trophy at 5500rpm.good luck with the new power.

Anyone know if the 22 Velocity's with the v birth configurations are stronger that the non cabin models because of the boxed in bunks...I was told they are but wanted others opinions.

I would look into mercury Pro max, or turbo txp ot4 for a good all around propeller that runs well. Your boat should touch 80 on a good day.

Had some issues with the motor at the beginning of the summer so I just set the boat aside for this summer. We bought a lake house and have been completely remodeling it so that's been the priority. If all goes well ill be sending the motor off for some work then get bigger numbers in spring.
