Thanks blkmtrfan, I was not following the details of this thread and did not know the "new deck" design was started all the way back in 1994. For that boat to do 83MPH with a 300X back then is pretty darn good given the super high freeboard, 8' Beam, and 22 degree deadrise. I guess that means a new one would do an honest 80MPH with a 1.62 300XS. I will say that the Velocity is the only SOB that takes advantage of the underbow area. With the higher deck and fairing they should have done the little jumper seats under there along with the playpen.

Hey Greg on the SOB thread I asked you why you didn't think the Velocity was current, if you search this thread for "Limitless" posts you will see that he has a 2012 with a 300xs,
    seems pretty current to me

There are several posts on this thread, over a few pages, if you search his posts the should pop up

I think there is some build pics from the factory as well.

I am still looking but is it possible that Tistronskar has a 2011 model year as well as Limitless's 2012?

My floor was flat with no recess for v-birth entry. I wanted to change that, shorten the tank (94 gallons to 54 gallons, which should be about 60 inches) and clean the tank as well. The boat may have been a mercury test boat at one time but I havn't talked to Steve about it. I also want to add a cooler. Was thinking in the back, but JamesGang makes good point . Will think some more. Glad to be here on S&F! Thanks- Eric

And it looks like this guy might have a 2000 Velocity 220 with "new deck style"? I wonder if a MY2000 the same boat as a 2011, and 2012

Greg G..tristokar's boat is not a 2011...I believe his is a 94 kevlar hull..your 2000 is the same as a 2012 there has been no changes in the hulls since 94.There has been diiferent size tanks in them(most outboards are around 50gal.Interiors have changed some what, just to keep it modern.A 94 hull and up hull in no way will have the speed of say a Progression. The Velocity is simply a bigger boat weight wise and width wise. The cuddy also is a factor as well. The thing these do best is they do almost everything very well.Navispeed's is the fastest ive ever heard of,however nobody can confirm that 100%.His we believe was ordered with bare bones and no cuddy.I heard the previous owner added the cuddy in attempt to settle the boat down. The rumor is it ran 92 when owned by a man in Goergia.Id love to see one of these run that but im not sure how light or how far youd have to go back,I know for sure it get real flighty. We need to get ahold of "carguy" to get more of the story.

So it looks like there is a 2000, 2001 and then a 2012 out there. All three of these years would be the 220 model with the "new deck style", correct?

These three "new deck" Velocity 220's only need to get to an 86MPH top speed to knock out the Nordic SR-21/Crossfire-21 from there #5 slot. The Velocity has a ton of freeboard and bow deadrise so they have the rough water piece of the equation without a doubt. Plus I think the hull's have 22 degree deadrise but I may be wrong on that detail.
