Thanks Limitless. The people I have met on this site are the greatest. Alby Pine who I met through here a couple years ago is unreal. He has only known my Friend Jim Gogats from TZ marine Service for about a year and has donated almost a week of his time so far to help him put his life back together. I can't thank Alby enough, stand up guy, he's crazy , but a stand up guy. I know the guys I have met in LI are hurting also, so my heart goes out to you guys if you read this. Were all a tough bunch so I know we will all bounce back pretty quick. Well I have to get back to the rest of my 253 Emails that have piled up this week. Thanks again.

Even if a few only have two brain cell's that are not on speaking terms don't make em bad people see ya tomorrow

As I said yesterday, if you guys need a hand over there I'm just a short ride away. I'm shocked none of the carnage along the Hudson has made the news, it seems all they can talk about is the NJ shore.

You guys must have been hit pretty hard by Sandy.
    Hope all is well.

    Thanks for asking Roger.

Today is my First day I could get back online since the storm. A 50' tree next door fell to the West and took out all power lines and blocked off my street for 3 days. Lines/poles and trees down on opposite side of my block still has other end closed. If tree had fallen to the South it would have taken out my Boat and trailer. Large trees up rooted everywhere, many trees have hit homes and taken out power-lines all over Long Island, NY. Still no power or heat and told could be out for a week or more still. Staying mainly at a friends house. Heard from others that have had it much worse with Tidal water damage. Trees and power out all over and Gas scarce with lines 100 cars long at stations not closed. South Shore of Long Island is an Unbelievable mess. Never expected so much devastation.

    Hi Aaron
I tried to keep mine simple and balanced.
I have a merc monitor in the center that can display one,two or three factors at the same time (digital or analog).
A GPS speedo kit is available to connect to this monitor if you want to show speed.
However I just have a small hand held that I use.
I then have analog fuel, trim, temp, water psi gauges, two on either side as back ups visually.
Mine are all Smartcraft, Livorsi also has a similar set up.
I agree with your jack plate thoughts I've been forced to use a simple up down switch temporarily when my dial switch failed, thats what I've been doing rather than relying on a pre set number on the dial.

A big thanks to limitless for allowing me to use a few of his props!!! Took off the 245hp 2.5 merc racing 20' and put on a 3L 250efi.....going through break in now, can really feel the torque difference between the two motors. Boat feels real strong now out of the hole and am running a 23p laser and after break in going to a 26 trophy plus. Will post results in a week or so after I put the hours on and break it in softly. The 2.5 245hp is now for sale if anyone is looking for one!! Will take $3750 for it...has sportmaster and 24" tempest ss prop. I hope to see mid to hi 70s with the setup.

    TRIM TABS 2004 220

I am considering trim tabs for my 220. I know there are many opinions about being un necessary or a waste on the 220. I am interssted in those who have them, what size are they, how have they worked for you? I am wanting to add them to help the wife when driving (the chinewalk scares her) I am getting more used to the boat and am able to drive it pretty good now. I understand they will help planing off quicker (especially when running a big prop) and reduce pourposing (it gets bad sometimes). I am running a 250 efi (hopefully soon to be a 300xs)

    Thanks for your input

The motor on one of my tabs doesnt work so I havent tried the tabs while running yet. I do get a lot of use out of them to get back in the boat when I jump in. These newer Velocities are big. I'll let you know how mine work in the spring when I fix that motor. They probably will be fun to play with. Don't think I would have invested the money in them if they werent already on the boat.

I had some on mine and I ened up taking them off.I just never really seemed to use them. They did help the porpoise a bit and leveling the boat when loaded.Once the noviltey of playing with them wore off I never really used them anymore.Navispeed has them as well and Im not sure he uses them much either.I helpd the porpoise a bit by moving around the weight in the boat.Im not sure id bother with them myself.I was running 12" of setback and went back to 10" so I think that help as well.

More then likely we will be going for a 300 this year.Im debateing on a tqmaster or sportmaster or even a coned tqmaster.Whats everones take on this on our 98?I saw 82.6 last year with our 250xs but I believed the stars aligned that day for those numbers.A realistic everydy speed is about 75-76mph and a bit more when its rougher. The 300xs or x should put me low 80s id guess. so im not realy at the limit of the tqmaster but getting close.
