Actually I would bet that my stepp built is lighter then hoser's conehead built hull!!! Superboats have a liner which adds a decent amount of weight, there front deck is a cored deck, and also superboats are built with a matt roven matt layup which is far from light. The real difference between these boats is the design of the outside chine, the size and design of the pad, transom notch, and also the overall width of the hull. Superboats you can hang the nose way up in the air and really fly them, while my velocity will actually scrub off speed if you hang the nose up high like hoser does.

Looking at Navispeeds 01 I found some a difference on the hulls. Some time after 98 they added a small lip on the further most strake when looking at the side. From what I can tell that helped eliminate the porpoise the the 94-98 at least hulls had.I believe thats why the newer hulls can get away with vastly smaller or no trim tabs at all.On 94 to 98 at least hulls they seem to need much larger trim tabs.I have 12X9 and there not nearly enuff, the boat porpoises from 35-50 unless its trimed down or completely trimed out and wide open. What size trim tabs and on the 94 and up STEPP hulls are you running. The earlier boats are alot lighter and probably not effected as much.

I have a 94 and it dont need trim tabs at all and it does not purpose either.

    This weekend I will go for a Pro ET 4 26" and a 26" Raker(with HubKit).

I am still little curious if any one have tried a Tempest+?

no way a standard layup SB21 is lighter then a Velocity like Mikeylarge, I would say his Velocity is close to 400-500lbs LIGHTER

Back in the day My old boat stats where..
    1985 22" 2.5 260
    sport master 1.87
NO set back or lift plate
22 round ear chopper with a lot of cup
76.5 mph @7500 rpm on a constant basis
It was 3550 lbs with a venture single axle trailer on a scale.

Check out that slip factor, hard to beat.

1200lb superboat? Not so sure about that I think they are more like 1500-1600 lbs, full liner, plywood stringers, plywood transom
