What did you do for your seat bases? I just removed mine last week and am still trying to figure out exactly what I want. Love the look of the billet bases but also like the practicality of a pedestal that can spin. Just don't know how it would hang in there. I'm thinking as short as it would be and being through bolted with backing plates, it would be okay. Any thoughts? Do you know if there is any bracing directly below the original seat bases?

    Thanks,
    eric

I copied this set up.I will bolt the the seet wera it fits me best,my wife will use a towel to keep her forward a bit.It came with pedistals/slides but the screws would always loosen up in ruff water.

Thanks for the pic. My bases were similar, but we're angled back toward the rear. They are gone now,and I was just looking to thru bolt something down. Going back with the loncoin flooring and didn't care to carpet the seat bases. Thanks!

Point taken.... i need to make an inspection hole so i can see the condition below the seat base. I have the tank out now and want to get everything related to the floor done. My boat is ayear 2000 and didn't have a portapotty or a recessed floor for the v-berth entry. The floor was the same level throughout the boat because the gas tank was near 95 gallons and extended into the v-berth. I'm changing that, installing a smaller tank, recessing the v-berth entry and yes, adding the same thing to make my wife happy. I also need to see some pics of how the porta potty is installed. (the things we agree too...uhg...

Im not sure theres room in the 85 for a porta potti. The 90s and up are a bigger boat from the rubrail up.Theres a small cuddy on the newer hulls.

Try www.powerboatlistings.com/view/15273. It's the the only pics I have seen of that set up. Boat was in jax fl. Definitely cleans things up (looks) in the transom area. Tilting engine may be problem but with enough set back and a hydraulic jackplate, it may work. Others here would know better.

thanks pics at least show it can be done now what does this setback look like i am thinking around 14" maybe 10 plus 4 for the jack plate and it looks like a 25 mid the other question is my transom is about 30 inches why not just throw on a hydro jack plate with a 30" motor and keep my setback to a minimum just looking to get 70 out of this boat any advise will be appreciated Gene B

That appears to be a bracket by "Stainless Marine". Look at their "mini" single outboard bracket. the jackplate looks like CMC powerlift which I think is 4" of setback. From what I've read so far, 10 total setback is good for the top end but the rough water benefits suffer. That is for the newer (heavier) hull. I have the same dilemma as I'm trying to buy the right jackplate the first time for my "old school" Johnson v8. Your problem will being trying to tilt motor up. Seems a hydraulic jack would be essential. I definitely like that transom look better, would allow for a sun pad and really make that a very big 22 ft boat. Also never seen anything other than 20 inch motor on these boats. I guess you could rig the bracket higher and gain clearance though. Good point. Eric

ya i am thinking maybe just a 25" motor with a jack plate another thing i ahve read is you should not trailer with your jack plate all the way up so that puts it back to were you would have to tilt to trailer not sure how i could clear the transom with anything less than a 30" motor
