Very interesting...I suspect that normal layup with wood in the (bulkhead, floor etc.) construction would weigh approximately +10% more. Even those laid up with S-glass and vinylester does not amount to significant weight savings since there isn't that much weight savings between S-glass and regular fiberglass. Do you have carpet in the cockpit or lonseal coin flooring? I have an 8x10 ft lonseal floor material that I plan on installing in the Spring, and it weighs an additional 80lbs.

    Post some additional pictures!

Sounds like a nice hull. What do you think hull weight bare would be, about 1850? I mean W/O rigging but with interior.

    The outboard is a 12 300xs 20" with a 1.75 sportmaster around 500 lbs,
    remote trim pump,
    6" hydraulic jackplate,
also Dual Batteries(for the eventual audio)

Yes she has the SST Flooring
I was not going for the lightest ,but wanted low maintenance, durabilty, and longevity.
Probably not the "greenest" environmentally friendly boat.
But my grand kids are probably gonna get to ride in her !!!!

Yea I definitely think its got 95 in it if not more once i get it all dialed in with a jackplate. It ran 85 on sunday at 5500 rpm with 2 ppl and a full tank of fuel. Thats all it would turn with a 30 et, so im going to try a few other props on Wednsday and see if I can get my rpm's up and get more into the powerband. 5500 on a 300x is no where near the powerband, so it will be interesting to see how fast it will run on the transom before I make any changes.

I think you have a great combo there , your dad will likely be playing a little catch up... but don't get cocky! he will likely be up to the challenge. Be safe and have fun.... winter is here even though its been warm get as much dial in time as you can. Keep us posted. How was the torque steer?

Theres no torque on the wheel with the sea star, the only thing is that it doesnt respond as fast as a side arm setup, my dad was telling me that is prob all due to the helm. Anyway its definitely useable with the seastar just takes a little getting used to.

Pretty Bad Huh! He beat me in my own boat. Next he'll probably have his boat going 5 miles an hr. faster than mime. I guess thats just the way it goes. I think I would have to work my engine to keep up with his boat in the end. If I do he will next so you know how that goes. Right now the dependability of a stock engine and getting 90 is pretty good in my book.

All of the seastar that I have driven feel the same, unless you start going with a capilano helm..... but for safety issues I would try to put together a sidearm setup if your looking to run high 90s all the time

Between reading this thread and the 250 etec superboat thread (which I am far from impressed by) has me all pumped up. I am gathering a few props and I am going to chase that big # this weekend... or atleast make an attempt too. Lets see what my 225 based motor can do.

What do you mean by seastar and a side arm set up? Jim 90 and reliable is priceless. Mike not sure what you mean .... the motor the boat or the combo or the thread? I can't believe all of you guys are still boating in December... I have mine put away since Oct. I need a boat ride....... Good luck with the dialing in guys.
