Maybe on a Checkmate on either side of the engine but I haven't seen it on a Velocity. Don't do it, totally uncool. I agree with your wife.

The splash well is so big on these boats you could probably get away with a nice billet aluminum step on the transom on a nice grab handle inside the splashwell to pull yourself up....

Thanks for the photos... I don't know about the platform being underwater though. Mike I like your idea never thought of it. Jim your always free to speak your mind. I guess having an Evinrude on the back just isnt uncool enough. P.S. I don't mind the platform too much. Thanks again guys.

I was a bit concern with water intrusion with the platform being underwater and just before season's end, I removed the platform and checked for water intrusion and there was none. Velocity did a good job with the install and sealing. I resealed everything with a good amount of 3M 5200.

Any time holes get put in a boat is a cause for concern..... I am curious does the platfrom change how the boat gets on plane? It looks like it might drag a little. Thanks for the help.

It actually does not change the way or affects how it gets on plane. Once moving, the hull displaces the water around the platform.

Well we finally got a chance to go for a run today and we still have some issues to work out. Bens boat is a little close to the edge with water pressure and were gona work on it and maybe give another try tomorrow. He said he got 84 out of it and he wasn’t even on it then got a temp buzzer and stopped. Tried it one more time same thing at 80. He said his definitely accelerates faster than mine and feels totally radical. He says hes gona totally kick my ass. While he was doing that I had to change a map sensor on mine so I never actually got to see it run. When I went out I made about 6 attempts at breaking 90 and got 89.9 every time. He took out mine and ran it till it was pretty low on fuel and toped my high speed pretty good – 90.8. That pisses me off, now I have to try to top that. Will let you all know how tomorrow goes and I’ll get Ben to post some Pics of his boat later tonight. He buffing his winter wreck out right now cause he says it makes his boat look bad when he’s towing it.
