To all you Velocity guys. I may be posting some interesting stuff on the old hulls over the next 6 months or so. If you guys noticed there is always a little back and forth dig with me and Mike (mikeylarge) who I have become friends with over the last couple years. My son Ben recently bought Mikes boat which we believe is a light lay-up with a race faring. I recently picked up Ivans (Navaspeed1) 300X which we now have bolted flat on the transom in the top hole. So what will be interesting to see will be what the boat will do on transom vs. on a jack which I believe Ben will have by springtime. We are also going to try a few props and compare 1.62 vs. 1.75 ratios on both Bens boat and mine. Waiting for a few last rigging items and want to take a preliminary run before we put them away for the winter, but will keep you guys posted.

Jim, Very nice to see that Mikes boat will be appreciated and have some serious power thrown to it. Maybe 100....

Jim I am curious as to how much torque steer you guys are experiencing with the motor flat . When I raised mine up to the second to last hole the steering torque was so severe that I would have to back off on it to turn, this is partly why I have not raised it all the way. I would imagine 90 is more than a realistic number.... my guess that 95 is gonna be your mark. Long live the Potato chip.

Wow, very interesting stuff! Mike's ultra light velocity paired with Ivan's 300X will make a wicked combination. I think hitting the 100mph mark (or close to it) is highly probable.

Mike I am sure you will have something up your sleeve. Your new boat is no slouch. Your old boat should really move with that 300x. You were at 85 with a 225 I think 95 should be reachable with nearly 100 more h.p. After all the hard work you put into the Velocity it must be a relief to know all that it went too a friend..... maybe after its dialed in he'll let you play a little. Between all the knowledge you and Jim have with these boats maybe you can get the first single outboard 100mph Velocity. Good luck guys can't wait to see the progress.

I do believe there has been a few big v8 piwered velocities that ran up around the 100 mark but Jamesgang would know better then me. I don't think that boat has 100 in it but it will be in the 90s for sure. Cant wait to see my old boat pass me up at the romp!

Twins over 100, I had one, don't know of any singles. I had a 3.6 that would read 91 on a Madalion Speedo and that was with a little work done to the engine. A stock 300X pushing a GPS 90 is amazing to me. I must say I use to be an OMC guy but I'm converted.

This might be off track but does anyone have a picture of a Velocity sitting in the water with a swim platform? I think I saw one on here at one time but I can not find it. My wife thinks it will look really bad.... but I'm sick of buffing out scratches from the portable ladder. Thanks in advance guys.
