    Hey Guys
    Exciting week!
    We're gettin there.
    Any thoughts on a 26 pitch pro et (left over from a previous boat)?
    Will need to get a new hub kit for the larger shaft.

    Wow very nice!!!! For now I would run low pitch (24-25), until you feel good at the wheel, there are a lot of settings you will be learning about your boat, once you break in the motor and feel comfortable driving it then go for higher pitch and different types of prop. Just be patient and give it some seat time!!! These are driver boats and each one is different so be safe and enjoy it!!!

    Boat and motor looks great,looking forward to seeing it as it goes together.Im not sure the over the hub prop will work very well getting out of the hull.I know they like 4 blade props to carry it.Im not sure about it being a drivers boat though.Its about the easiest hull ive ever driven and takes very little driver input.Preety much hammer down trim up,my wife can drive it wide open.The hull is extremly forgiving and runs better when its a bit rougher.Ive like trophy plus probs so far the best.

    Thanks for the input guys.
    Its a 4 blade and i'm hoping that the 300hp will take care of the the getting on plane.
    The prop was previously on an Action it would rev out then sling shot.
    I appreciate the safety advice,I will take it easy.
    I hope that she's as easy as aaronmt73 says.
    What is the benefit of the lower pitch initially? (24-25)

    What ratio lower??? 1:75's with a 4 blade reg finish 26 pro et should run nice, but I would tend to think that 300 should eat up a 28p all day long! 1:62's with a 26 should be pretty damn close though

    1:75's I would run the 26 for a break in prop, then once you get that motor brooken in and she starts to loosen up a little throw a 28 on their, you should see low to mid 80's with no problem!

    If this is a standard layed up hull im not sure its gonna run much more then 80.The newer hulls are very heavy in comparisn to what your was Mikeylarge.Seems like mid 70s speed with a 250xs is about where they run,a stock 300xs is only around 35hp more then a 250xs.The newer hulls wont gain all that much speed with only 35hp more.A 300x for the most part wont run a everday speed in the 80s.If the hull is layed up lighter or lightend these speeds obviously will vary a bit.I believe setup is as important if now more so then hp on these hull.I bet the newer boats are almost 2 times the weight the 84-85 boats were.I imagine the 300xs will run 80ish light on fuel and running solo,high 70s with a few people more then likely.Its alomost as the hull hits the breaks around 80.Im not sure what the fastest a newer style hull has done.Im sure if the cuddy was basically bare stringers the boats would run quite a bit faster.The headliner,side padding,and 5/8 wood decking all in by themselves dont weight that much, but when added together and put so far forward there weight multiplys.Triskon's newer hull will be intresting in the fact that it will be lighter after the redo,it may run mid 80s with the 300xs.Is Limitless,s new one a standard layed up hull?Id love to see one of these running mid 80s just not sure with without dropping a signicant weight in the right area's if it will do it.

    I have hard to believe that a newer V22 could see 85. I have pushed mine very hard for two years now and I have only a few timss seem 81+ (77-78 allday) My boat is also ligthend with no interior at all i the cabin etc etc

    I am also a bit doubtful that a newer V22 could move close to the rev limiter with a 28". It is also a big differences between props&props. Last year I had problems to see 6100 rpm with a Turbo TXP OT4 (fastest prop I have ever driven on my V22) Today I am driving a Merc Racing Bravo XS 27" and the best I have seen is 79 Mph at 6200 rpm.


    Next year I will go for:
    12" setback
    Turbo TXP OT4 26"
    Dave Bush Stage 1 300XS upgrade

    Then maybe I will see 85+

    I ran a bravo saturday, I was far from impressed.... Ran 4 mph slower then my beater trophy, and 6 mph slower then my best prop.

    Wow thanks for all the advice I really appreciate your responses.
    I was going over this thread.
    Looks like Tistronskar tried this 26 pro et last year ,what was your impression ?
    Mikeylarge and Aaronmt73 both like the Trophy Plus as an all round prop.
    With it being only 2mph shy of Mikeys best speed! Thats pretty awesome for a stock prop
    The Bravo Prop However its seems that there is a Bravo1,Bravo1 outboard ,and Bravo1 xs ?????
    All of these are 4 blades
    Anyone try the Fury or Tempest 3 blades ? or is this not a good idea for the Velocity.
    Aren't 3 blades faster ?
    I agree with the break in plan for the 26 and go from here depending on the baseline

    I will definitely have to go for another round with a Trophy next year. Maybe the Trophy behave different on newer vs older v22 hulls?

    There is a big difference between a Std Bravo 1 and a Merc Racing Bravo XS. The Bravo XS is only made for outboards by Merc Racing. If you put both side by side you will see a lot of differences. I could also agree that the Std Bravo is a lot slower than for example Trophy and Turbo.

    I did also a test (that I have written about at S&F somewhere) with a 26" and 27" Fury and they did not perform like the Trophy and the Turbo TXP OT4.

    I have not tried a lot of 3-blade props but I do not get the right feelings in mid range with them, maybe they will perform better on WOT.
