Official 22 velocity speed and set up thread.

Ok I read through all the other 22 Velocity threads. How bout everyone post there speeds.

    Mine is as follows,

    Year:1998
    Motor: 2009 Optimax 225
    Setback: 6"
    Factory setback: 9"
Engine height: ? burried 6"s deep
    Prop: ? 25 trophy plus
    Kevlar or not:Possibly
    Engine Rpm: 5750
    Speed 67.7

I wont have any new numbers for mine for possibly 2 weeks. It was mounted directly against the transom and had a 2 year old very bad 3/4 tank of gas.It ran 57 the first day as it showed up off the truck.I then put a 25 trophy I had in the garage and ran 67.7.The prop on it was a large hub 23 trophy and hitting the limiter bad.Ive been doing a lot of rigging and set up changes and should get new numbers soon.

The only numbers I have so far are from first purchase. It was mounted on the lowest hole about 6"s below the pad, against the transom without a jackplate.

    Year:1998
    Motor: 2009 Optimax 225
    Setback:
    Factory setback: 9"
Engine height: 5-6"s below the pad
    Prop:25p trophy
    Kevlar or not:Possibly
    Engine Rpm:5800
    Speed 67.7 gps

I should have the updated numbers on the new setup in a week or so.Has anyone got neer or cracked 80 with a 225?

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

    Motor: 2008 Merc 300 XS 1:75<O></O>
    Setback/Jackplate: Detweiler 6"<O></O>
    Factory Setback:<O></O>
Engine Height: Prop shaft ~1-2” below pad<O></O>
Prop: 26" Bravo 1 B&B by Marc Croxton and with shorten drumend<O></O>
Engine RPM: initial testing at 6200 rpm
    Kevlar or not: YES, 100%<O></O>
    Speed (GPS): 78,5 mph.

I bought the boat from US ( I live in Stockholm/sweden) and I changed the engine from a 300X to a 300XS. With the 300X she had 80Mph on the GPS and that is my goal with the 300XS. I am in the propghetto right now and it will propably take a while to get out from there <O></O>

No GPS yet. Only Livorsi speedometer. I see 80-82 which I believe is off. I've never really tried it alone either. Just got the boat last season. I was running a 4 blade BBlades Mercury Revolution prop 14 5/8 x 24. 1.62 gears. The Stainless Marine hydraulic jack has 4" of setback. I've seen 6200 - 6600 rpms. Probably slipping a lot a 6600.
