Exclamation progression vs allison vs hydrostream vs phantom

I´m searching for a new boat and thougth about these models.
wich would be the fastest and best choice for offshore outboard "race" (no pro race or what so ever) but minimum 20"

the allison and hydrostreams are not that deep (are they more suitable for lakes? )

The allison`s are fast but can`t handle engines above 175 hp (tech spec!!!) how does this make sense?

any idea on how a progression is handling compared to a phantom?

at the moment i own a ring 20" (similar to phantom) with a merc 200, 2 stroke. the ring cant handle engines above 225 hp (according to tech spec) but i would like to get over the 80 mph limit.
the water where I live, is kindda rough so it must be a sharp v bottom boat.

    I hope someone can help.
    Kind regards Peter

Not familar with progression or phantom but I am thinking those would be your best bets. Both Allison and Hydrostream are not suitable for offshore or even large choppy lakes in my opinion.

Allison rating is an attempt by Darris to reflect that thye boats will go fast enough at lower hp ratings most run engines up to and in excess of 225 hp. The Promax 225 is a popular engine on Allisons but many run Merc 260 or 280 engines. Engine weight is more of a factor Allison does not recommend running an engine over 440 pounds (from memory) which lets out any of the new big Opti-Max and Etec motors.

I think progression style boats are more appropriate for you application and I'm can't be of much help there. I boat on relatively small lakes and rivers.

I have owned a few Hydrostreams, Allisons and Progressions

The Allisons and Hydrostreams are the fastest but
    not ideal in rough water.

    Did get into the low 90's w my 22 w yamaha and 100 is pos w a merc X

24ld will be capable of over 80's
    Probably better for rough water

    I would also consider a 21 or 24 Superboat

    Hope this helps
