Today I ran my 1969 1250 short shaft for the first time after installing some of Bruster's solid engine mounts. (boat is a 1965 carlson contender)

The boat handled a load better! Felt half way's safe today

I also installed a new swivel with less slop.

THe icing on top was swithcing to a 3 blade cleaver You are right Bruster the cleaver rocked. Its a 25 pitch OMC. Really bite jacked up and was silky smooth. Ran me a 58up/ 62.2down 60mphave.with lots left. Didnt have room on the river today to really open it up. I was hideing from the wind (40mphgusts)

Im 4 inches off the transom and water pressure is awesome with the stock lower unit.
Next calm day on the lake ill really let it rip and see if this rig with the 1250 will hang out to 65 mph. Then the 1500xs may have to get new pistons

Thanks Bruster
