A bulkhead is basically a wall installed every so often to strengthen a large open structure. They don't need to be solid like a true wall.

Think of a house framed in. The interior walls are the bulkheads which serve exactly the same purpose - strenthen the total structure.

Another analogy which is more accurate would be the ribs in an aircraft wing. The ribs in nautical terms are bulkheads and provide points to rivet the aluminum skin (fiberglass deck) to make a strong structure.

A submarine is also composed of a long steel tube with vertical bulkheads every so often to strenghen the structure. They put doors in those vertical bulkheads to allow passage between compartments and that is why Blizz said that they dont have to be solid. That is also why the wing ribs in an aircraft wing have holes in them - to make them lighter.

Yes obviously he needs help but I tried to give him the definition and the purpose of a bulkhead. Sometimes if you know the "why" and "what it does" that is a big help. Maybe the guy is a house framer and knows nothing about boats. If we could put it in his terms - which I tried to do - he would at least understand WHAT needs to be done and why. If he has the skills to do it is another matter which will probably be addressed here again.

This is for Eddie. No one makes bulkheads that you can just install. You have to make them and then install them. If you want to do that I or any other fiberglass savvy person on this forum can tell you how to do it.

Anytime you stiffen something that vibrates, something nearby is going to vibrate instead, usually starting some new stress cracks. They try to design broad areas like decks to have even, uniform flex...
