The adapter plate on my gen 2 appear the same, all the fittings are plugged. compressor is fed water from a large fitting on top of the block, no filter or screen, T-stat dumps are routed down and through the bottom pan. Nothing unfreindly about the 15" mid or trim range,it has 3 degrees less negative trim than a 20",.but has no tilt which for anyone with a hyd jack is a non issue anyway. With the wedges I installed yesteday I flattened the holeshot, can keep the boat planing @ 20mph and did not lose top speed with 5 degrees less positive trim. 620 hours,no hiccups.

Glass calm at lunchtime so went out for 1 last slalom run, water @ 6* C, air @ 7 with some sun, had a nice boat ride after as well. Slipped a blow out ring on the trophy plus a while back. Breaks away even faster @ holeshot. Great season, motor ran beautiful, sitting at 672 hours now, will clean up the vst, replace the impeller, inspect the plugs again, [still originals] gear oil ect. Finally got the new 2 stroke oil I ordered from mercury racing - had a look at it, synthetic blend, red in color, seems like a lighter viscosity with a slightly different odor than the multi fuel oil I am using that had been recommended for the motor originally. This new oil is good for all 2 strokes and opti's, including the race models, motorcycle, snowmobile engines, air or liquid cooled, oil injected or pre mix applications. Part No. 92-8M0078011. The new 85W-90 gear lube for all racing outboard and stern drive gear cases showed up and appears different as well. Part No. 92-8M0078015. Glad I went today, snowing and blowing now.

$9,800 + $2,100 for the ECU! For those numbers they should at least give a 1 year warranty.

It should be sold for the same price as a 225 or 250 Pro XS and an optio for it to be on the 175 prosx mid, with the standard 2 year warranty from merc racing and they would sell more than they could build.. My boat can now handle a 3 liter but I would opt for the 2.5 for fuel economy. I only need to run in the 80's, I feel safer in the 80's.

I'm surprised they'll even sell you a complete/dressed powerhead, you can't get a complete/dressed 3.2/300XS powerhead unless it's a warranty claim.............

I am curious as to what the price is on the SST version? Similar to the ROS model? Anybody know?
